Identify a part without guessing compatibility
Reference, data plate, serial number and photographs: evidence to gather before ordering.

Appearance does not prove compatibility
Two visually similar parts may differ by a dimension, connector, revision or machine application. A photograph alone is not always sufficient.
The most useful evidence
- readable OEM reference;
- machine make, model and serial number;
- data-plate photograph;
- multi-angle photographs of the part;
- dimensions and connectors;
- previous invoice, manual or catalogue when available.
State quality clearly
An offer should say whether the part is genuine, equivalent, aftermarket, remanufactured or used. This affects price, terms and service-life expectations.
The right reflex
When information is missing, flag uncertainty and request another check instead of confirming compatibility too quickly.
